Welcome  to Your Fugro sponsored DP CPD Program

Please read this guidance carefully before you start the program

Keelson's DP CPD program is based on an Assessment for Learning methodology. It will satisfy your Nautical Institute DP CPD requirement for revalidation.

This is not a training program. We recognize that you are already professionals in your field. This is an opportunity to refresh and improve your DP knowledge. The assessments HARD; they are meant to be. It is the ONLY DP CPD program to be differentiated by role and rank. This means a Master/OIM will get harder questions than DPO and different questions than a Chief Engineer

FUGRO HAS ENROLLED ALL RELEVANT DP PERSONNEL REGARDLESS OF CURRENT CERTIFICATION, CLICK HERE FOR Message from the Fugro DP Focal Point

You will need a steady internet connection and time and space to complete the assessments which should take no longer than 60 minutes. Your assessments are hosted by Cirrus. Access to Cirrus is below - BUT READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST!

How does the program work?

The program consists of one assessment with 10 attempts. Your first attempt is automatically your baseline assessment, which measures your current level of competence. The remaining nine attempts are used to demonstrate improvement.

Fugro set a window of 10 weeks in which to complete your program; check your dates on your Cirrus dashboard. You MUST complete the program within this time. Extensions cannot be granted.

BASELINE ASSESSMENT

The baseline attempt is a critical component of the assessment process. It establishes your current level of ability and generates the Cirrus report that will guide your study plan.

👉 Why it’s structured this way: The assessment is set up to make sure your results are fair, accurate, and meaningful. Your first attempt is the baseline, which shows your starting point. After that, you have nine more attempts to improve, but you must wait at least 48 hours between attempts. You do not need to study for this baseline assessment — simply trust your training and experience to demonstrate your genuine ability.

  • Participants are required to complete the baseline honestly and to the best of their ability.

  • Any attempt taken within 48 hours of the previous attempt will not be counted, regardless of score.

  • Deliberate underperformance undermines the validity of the assessment and may be considered non‑compliant.

  • Genuine improvement, based on accurate baseline data, is valued and monitored throughout the process.

IMPROVEMENT ASSESSMENT

The improvement assessment is where you demonstrate progress after your baseline. It allows you to show measurable growth in knowledge and competence.

👉 Why it’s structured this way: The improvement assessment is designed to encourage learning, reflection, and genuine progress. After your baseline, you have nine more attempts to improve your score. You must wait at least 48 hours between attempts — this ensures you take time to study and apply the DP CPD learning materials instead of simply repeating the test. Any attempt taken within 48 hours of the previous one will not count, regardless of score.

  • Take time to read the report from your baseline assessment and engage with the DP CPD Learning Material and documents from across the DP industry — you will find links and guidance below. Then take your improvement assessment.

  • Improvement is measured by comparing your new score against your baseline score.

  • To earn your certificate, you must achieve a minimum score of 65% in one of your improvement attempts.

  • Attempts to reset or replace the baseline will not be accepted. Only genuine improvement counts.

  • Each attempt will present slightly different questions from the same subject areas, ensuring fairness and preventing memorization.

Your certificate will be issued within 2 working days, look out for an email from user@smartsheet.keelsonmarineassurance.com. Add this address to your contacts, download and save your certificate as soon as you receive it as the link will expire.
